Part 2: Cultivating the Field

Here is a documentation of my most recent painting's progress in chronological order. From priming the canvas to layering the initial sketching of figurations a collation of; varied contexts and events from photographs and the addition my own imagination's response. These subjective documents called paintings, feel like a contemporary tapestry of my everyday life.


This particular work is well under-ripe, and figurations are yet to be constructed and deconstructed; to be cultivated and to be planted (gardening) or rather layered (composted).


By layering several figurations, often from different contexts, memories, photographs, experiences; the figurations dissolve into each other akin to the inward workings of a compost.
